Hello

ayako kato

Ayako Kato is the representative of the Hawaii Home Chapel, part of Vine International Fellowship.

Since 2007, she has been providing a warm and welcoming place in Waikiki, Hawaii, where people can come to know Jesus in a friendly atmosphere.

Her passion is to help as many people as possible realize that we are not products of chance, but beings created by God, the Creator. Pastor Ayako loves studying rock layers (“strata”), because she believes they serve as historical and scientific evidence of Noah’s Flood. (If you’re curious, be sure to talk with her—you’ll be amazed by the eye-opening insights she shares!) Several times a year, she actively studies at the Genesis Japan Creation Research Association, and she also gives seminars summarizing her research (available on YouTube!).

She leads the Hawaii Home Chapel worship once a month, as well as services in Los Angeles via Zoom. Currently, she is preaching a series on Jeremiah, carefully walking through the book chapter by chapter.

Greeting from vif (hawaii home chapel branch)

ALOHA!
Sometimes church can feel a bit intimidating, can’t it? The atmosphere may seem too formal, or you might feel like it just doesn’t quite fit you. Some people even get tired of that kind of church life, or feel nervous about stepping into a church for the very first time. That’s why we started VIF Home Chapel in Hawaii—a place where people can join more comfortably and relax.

Because it’s held in a home, we try to make it feel like you’re simply visiting a friend’s house. We want to create a warm, welcoming space where anyone can think, “Maybe I’ll drop by,” without hesitation. Instead of a solemn ceremony, our goal is to share faith and heartwarming moments in a natural, down-to-earth atmosphere.

Of course, being in a house gives it a softer, cozier feel, but that doesn’t mean we take things lightly. We value the essence of what church is truly about. More than just a place to relax, we hope it can be somewhere that genuinely heals the heart—a place that feels comforting and safe, almost like a school nurse’s office.

So if you’ve ever felt that church is a little intimidating, we’d love for you to come visit! We look forward to sharing the joy of faith and providing moments that are both relaxed and deeply meaningful.

ayako's testimony

“A self-proclaimed ‘Strata Girl’ who loves looking at rock layers!”

I am deeply convinced that everything we see in this world—the beauty of nature, the miracle of life, and even our very existence—was created by God. When I firmly stood on this foundation, I came to realize strongly that having “faith” is not just an idea or theory, but is actually connected to the ultimate truth underlying this world.

This world was not formed by random chance and long ages, as evolution teaches. Evolution is only a hypothesis with no real evidence. Rather, everything in this world was intentionally created within God’s plan. When I became convinced that the account in Genesis is not just symbolic or mythical, but actual historical fact, my faith gained a whole new depth.

When I stood before the beautiful rock layers of the Grand Canyon and learned that they were formed by the great Flood in Noah’s time, I was deeply moved. From then on, I fell in love with studying strata! These rock layers testify to both the grandeur of God’s creation and the judgment that came because of human sin. Now I even call myself a “Strata Girl” because I love gazing at them so much. Every time I see those layers, I feel the greatness of God’s creation, and it fills me with excitement.

That’s the testimony I want to share with many people. By knowing the truth of Genesis as told in the Bible, people can sense God’s presence and grow deeper in their faith. I want others to know this wonderful reality—that God created the world and treasures each one of us. That is why I want to keep learning about biblical creation science and continue sharing it with others.
