Hello
pastor itsuo ueno
As the Senior Pastor of Vine International Fellowship, he is widely known as the 'Enka Pastor' for sharing the Good News through Enka-style music—a Japanese genre celebrated for its emotional ballads and traditional melodies.
In addition to his ministry, he has been teaching Japanese History and Literature at a Japanese school in Southern California for over 20 years. He often weaves these insights into his sermons, illustrating how the Bible remains profoundly true, even from a historical perspective.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Making everyone laugh with puns, magic tricks
HOBBIES: Reading, buying and selling cars
FAVOURITE FOOD: natto (Japanese fermented beans) with his special flavor sauce
RECENT EVENT: Despite suffering a complex fracture, he miraculously recovered at an incredible speed and can now walk briskly. Truly a blessing from God!

greetings
By grace of God, I first planted this church, Vine International Fellowship shortly after I graduated from Talbot seminary in La Mirada in 1988. We started as a independent church, but after a few years, we have joined Baptist General Conference (now Converge World Wide). In 2004, Vine International Fellowship in Hawaii also started. I hope you can join us and we will be looking forward to see you in person.
Vine International Fellowship Senior Pastor,
Itsuo Ueno
